Just like you, I am a person who “wears many hats.” My hats include wife, mother, daughter, friend, confidante, and teacher. I could also mention other ones like chicken wrangler, maid, mechanic, gardener, photography enthusiast, nature-lover, etc. What gives me a merry heart is that, no matter which hat(s) I’m wearing at the time, I am always striving to be a christian first and foremost.
At the beginning of 2015, my daughter asked me if she could start a blog. My initial response was “Blog? What’s a blog?” I decided to check it out for myself first, and so began an interesting journey through cyberspace…
This Merry Hearts Medicine site is my first attempt at blogging I hope it brightens your day, at least just a little. On this site, you’ll find thoughts about happiness, thankfulness, relationships, photography, homeschooling, and other varied tidbits. Thanks for stopping by!
“A merry heart does good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.” Proverbs 17:22
I have added a page called “Reasons to Smile.” It’s a place where we can share things we are thankful for and encourage one another. Please check it out and share your ideas! Thanks!

Thanks. I will definitely try to peek in on your progress from time to time. Our mixed-breed chicks from last spring recently started laying for us–new egg colors, yay!

I like how you often talk about your daughter. She sounds lovely and you sound like you’ve got a great relationship with her. What a blessing.

Thank you. She IS wonderful, and I’m not biased about it at all! ha ha We spend so much time together with her homeschooling, if I didn’t write about her, I’d have nothing to talk about. I guess I’d have to write fiction. 🙂

So sweet of you to say that, Laura. I’ve missed me on here, too. Lol Life has just been so busy that blogging got pushed way down my to-do list. It made me sad that in January (and following), I didn’t even get my end-of-the-month memory post written (“Moments of Joy”). I thought I’d always be able to keep up with something that was only once per month! I haven’t made time for my photography, either. Maybe some day soon things will slow down.

All we can do is take it one day at a time. You are missed!❤️

Thanks for your kind thoughts. I didn’t think anyone noticed I left. No big deal, though. I blog for the fun of it and as sort of a journal for my daughter to read some day. If I was writing to get attention/followers, I’d be sorely depressed! Ha Trying to grow a following feels too much like a job to me–a job with no pay!
